Payments
Take a deposit at the moment of booking
No-shows are not a customer problem, they are a commitment problem. A card deposit at booking is the only intervention that reliably changes the outcome.
Three modes, one setting
Every business picks one payment mode and the booking flow adapts to it. There is no half-configured state where staff have to remember which services take money.
Full payment collects the whole amount at booking, which suits businesses selling a fixed session. Deposit collects a fixed sum or a percentage now and leaves the balance to be paid in person, which is what most treatment businesses want. Cash skips the payment step entirely, creates the booking on submission, and never asks you to connect Stripe at all.
How the money moves
Straight to your account
Payments land in your own Stripe account through Stripe Connect. Bookky is never in the middle holding your takings.
No platform fee
Bookky adds nothing on top. Stripe's standard processing fee is the only deduction, and there is no per-booking commission.
Per-staff accounts
In self-managed mode each person connects their own Stripe account, so chair and room renters are paid directly without a reconciliation step.
Card data never lands here
The payment step runs inside Stripe's own elements. Bookky never sees, stores or transmits a card number.
Deposits per service, not per business
A blanket deposit is a blunt instrument. It deters people from booking the quick, cheap services where a no-show costs you very little, while under-protecting the long ones where it costs you a whole afternoon.
Because deposits are set on each service variant, you can ask nothing for a fifteen minute appointment and a meaningful amount for a three hour one. The customer sees the deposit amount before they commit, on the same screen as the price.

Common questions
Can I take a deposit instead of full payment?
Yes. Each business chooses one of three modes: full payment online, a deposit online with the balance paid in person, or no online payment at all. Deposits can be a fixed amount or a percentage, and can be set per service.
Does Bookky take commission on bookings?
No. Bookky charges no platform fee and no per-booking commission. Card payments go straight to your own Stripe account, and Stripe's standard processing fee is the only deduction.
Will Bookky reduce no-shows?
Taking a card deposit at the point of booking is the single most effective control, and Bookky supports it out of the box. Confirmation emails, reminder emails and a self-service cancel and reschedule link also cut silent no-shows by making it easy to move an appointment instead of skipping it.
How much does Bookky cost?
Bookky is included with Green Candle Digital Studio website packages rather than sold as a separate subscription. There is no per-booking commission and no platform fee on payments. Get in touch with GCDS for current package pricing.
Where is my data stored?
Customer and booking data is held in a UK and EU hosted Postgres database with row-level security, so one business can never read another's records. Card details never touch Bookky's servers; payments are handled entirely by Stripe.
